"There is something special about seeing ākonga of different ages learn from one another, find confidence in one another and come together as one community.

"Leadership is about serving others, listening to students and helping create a school community where everyone feels they belong."

"I hope the younger ākonga at Ōrewa are inspired to strive for Head Manukura and experience the same growth, support and opportunities that I have... as a Māori leader."

"Our hope is that we can inspire those who come after us, just as those before us inspired us, and leave a legacy that extends far beyond our time at Orewa College."
