Pacific Students Explore Future in Health Sciences at UoA
A group of our senior Pacific ākonga recently visited the University of Auckland’s Grafton Campus for the Va’a Experience, an inspiring and interactive day focused on careers in health science.
Held on Thursday, the event gave students the chance to:
Take part in hands-on sessions in Medical Imaging, Optometry, and Pharmacy
Tour the Human Anatomy Museum
Connect with Pacific university students and staff in a supportive, culturally responsive environment
This special opportunity was designed to uplift and empower rangatahi considering pathways into health professions. For many of our students, it was the first time experiencing these careers up close.
The Va’a Experience is part of the University’s commitment to increasing Pacific representation in the health sector ensuring Aotearoa’s future workforce reflects the communities it serves.
