Outstanding Performances at Golden Gloves

Golden Gloves Success for Zebedee and Isaac Two Orewa College ākonga have returned from the North Island Golden Gloves Championships in Tauranga with medals and mana.

Year 12 student Zebedee Balsom-Skinner earned gold in the 80kg Novice Youth class, while Year 10 student Isaac Gleeson took home silver in the 63kg Novice Junior division. Both athletes train at North Boxing Academy in Silverdale under coach Ben, who praised their dedication.

Golden Gloves is a premier event in Aotearoa’s amateur boxing calendar, showcasing top emerging talent from across the motu. For both Zebedee and Isaac, the event was an opportunity to demonstrate not only athletic ability but also the mahi that define great sportspeople.
