Slopestyle wins and teamwork

Orewa College ākonga carved their way to the podium at the recent inter-school snow sports competition, with standout performances.

Jake O’Reilly took 1st place in the Junior Boys Snowboard Slopestyle, impressing judges with smooth style and technical skill. He was joined by Joel Ford, Cruz Dalziel, and Zach Musker for the team event, where they placed 3rd overall. Franki Illing’s efforts also helped boost the team’s strong result.

Beyond the placings, the day was about camaraderie, courage, and confidence — the kind that comes from giving it your all alongside your mates. With plenty of support behind the scenes, it was a memorable and successful trip to the snow for our team.
