Surf, snorkels and sustainability for our first-ever 10 Outdoor Ed crew
Orewa College’s first 10OUED class has wrapped up a huge second term. With 25 ākonga in the group, this new course gave students a deep dive into outdoor experiences that stretched their confidence.
Highlights included surfing, water confidence, snorkelling, wild cooking, fire making, and the Pirates Bounty adventure race.
It wasn’t just about thrills. The class explored how waves work, ocean safety, and sustainability in our fisheries.
This group of Year 10 trailblazers have set a strong foundation for future outdoor education learning.
