Year 13 student’s crochet ball dress to feature on national runway
Year 13 ākonga Aimee Ulugia has earned a place on one of Aotearoa’s biggest fashion stages. She will debut her original crochet ball dress at Walk the Line, New Zealand Fashion Week’s youth showcase, held at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre on 30 August.
Organised by the Raise Up Youth Development Network, Walk the Line has been supporting young designers since 2011. It is known for giving talented rangatahi the chance to share their creativity with the public and the fashion industry.
Aimee’s acceptance into the show is a recognition of her skill, originality and dedication to her craft. It is also a rare opportunity to present her work alongside other up-and-coming designers from across the motu.
We will be cheering Aimee on as she takes her creation from the sewing table to the spotlight of the runway.
