Year 13 ākonga raise $560 for Motor Neurone Disease in their final assessment

Orewa College’s Year 13 Hospitality ākonga showed both skill and heart in their final baking assessment, turning a class project into a fundraiser.

Working in the school’s commercial kitchen, the students baked a variety of treats and sold them to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease, a cause close to teacher Bev Stuchbury’s heart. Together they raised an impressive $560.

Bev shared that the charity has personal meaning for her, adding extra purpose to the challenge. The students rose to the occasion, not only demonstrating their culinary abilities but also showing compassion.
