Anne Goulter Tribute

Orewa College honours Anne Goulter, a beloved teacher and leader, whose 40+ years of service will be celebrated on 16 August.

To our dearest, Anne Goulter, a colleague and friend to many, passionate teacher and leader, and a fierce advocate for Orewa College and its community, our time has come to say goodbye. For over 40 years, she led with integrity and passion, supporting countless students, pre-service teachers and staff to excel and reach their aspirations.

Mrs Goulter passed peacefully at home on Thursday 7th August surrounded by her family, after a valiant battle with cancer over the past two years. She was an inspiration and mentor to many. My most recent memories of Mrs Goulter (I can hear her now, saying “Wiri... call me Annie”), are of someone stoic and determined, facing her illness with grace. Even as she fought, she found the strength to support others with tremendous aroha and care. The way she carried herself each day was nothing short of inspirational.

We offer our condolences to her whānau, her husband Paul, and her children Isabella and Anthony. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at the Orewa Arts & Events Centre on Saturday 16th August at 2pm.
