Orewa College hockey girls celebrate in victory over St Mary’s College

Our Girls 1st XI Hockey team claimed a hard-fought finals win on Friday 22 August, overcoming St Mary’s College in a dramatic 3–1 penalty shootout after a 0–0 draw in regular time.

This win was especially meaningful as it followed two earlier losses to the same opponent, showing how far the team has come with the guidance of coach Kevin Johnston. Their ability to stay calm under pressure made all the difference in the final moments.

The shootout saw Orewa pull ahead with confidence, sealing the match and setting off well-earned celebrations on the turf.
