Fifty-two Level 3 Outdoor Education students recently returned from a five-day alpine adventure around Tekapo and Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park.

The group flew from Auckland to Christchurch before heading south to explore one of Aotearoa’s most stunning regions. Their packed itinerary included skiing and snowboarding at Roundhill, tramping in the snow, stargazing under the clear Tekapo skies, and visits to the Antarctic Centre and Tekapo Hot Springs.

As well as having fun, the trip helped students build confidence, teamwork, and a stronger connection with the natural world. One student shared, “This trip has given me the confidence to travel next year.”

Fresh snow and crisp blue skies made for perfect conditions, and the students made the most of every opportunity.
