Batten wins the 2025 Orewa College House Championship, marking their third consecutive victory.

Strong spirit, steady points, and a well-earned trip to Parakai

Batten House are once again on top, crowned the 2025 House Champions after a year of determined effort and competitive spirit across kura events. With 81 points, Batten secured a historic three-peat, holding off a strong challenge from McLaren.

McLaren kept the pressure on throughout the year with fierce performances across events. Nepia shone in creative competitions, taking out both the House Quiz and Battle of the Bands. Sheppard showed admirable resilience after the departure of long-time house leader Sarah O’Donnell in Term 3, while Blake, though finishing fifth, remained unmatched in house spirit.

Ngā mihi to all staff and students for their efforts and energy. As Term 4 approaches, Batten looks forward to celebrating with their well-earned reward: a trip to Parakai pools and hydro slides on Friday 17 October.
