Students and staff end Fijian Language Week with inaugural culture day

Orewa College held its first-ever Culture Day last week as part of Fijian Language Week celebrations.

The OAEC was buzzing at lunchtime as ākonga filled the space with traditional dress, proudly representing cultures from across the globe. From sulu to saree, kimonos to korowai, the range of attire reflected the incredible diversity within our school community.

A crowd gathered for a special cultural showcase, with performances from students that celebrated their identity. The event wrapped up a week of learning and activities focused on Fijian Language Week, leaving a lasting impression and setting the stage for future Culture Day celebrations.
