Students Show Manaaki in Action by Leading 3D Printing Workshop

Wolfgang and Katelyn lead a 3D printing workshop at Nukumea Primary, showing manaaki in action as ambassadors for Orewa College.

Sharing tech skills and aroha with incoming Year 6 ākonga

Orewa College students Wolfgang and Katelyn have been recognised for showing outstanding manaaki at a recent Kāhui Ako event, “Beyond the Screen,” held at Nukumea Primary School.

The pair led a hands-on 3D printing workshop for incoming Year 6 ākonga, patiently guiding the tamariki through the basics of design and digital fabrication. Their calm leadership and friendly support stood out not just as skilled tech mentors, but as caring ambassadors of our kura.

“Wolfgang and Katelyn beautifully represented our kura,” said teacher Josh Pinho. “They ran an outstanding workshop and connected so well with the younger students. Ka rawe team!”

This is a great example of manaaki in action: sharing knowledge, uplifting others, and stepping up as role models in our community.
