Students test their language skills and cultural knowledge at Takapuna Grammar event

Three of our Year 13 ākonga: Jaden Lee, Nic Otway and Il’ya Allen took part in the annual Senior Spanish Quiz at Takapuna Grammar.

The event brought together Spanish language students from across Tāmaki Makaurau. Our trio represented Orewa College with enthusiasm, tackling quiz rounds that tested vocabulary, grammar and cultural knowledge, especially in the Cinema and Music sections.

“It was great to meet students from other schools who are also learning Spanish,” said Il’ya. “Even though we didn’t come away with a win, we were proud of how much we’ve learned.”

The quiz offered a valuable chance to practise Spanish in a lively, real-world setting and showed our students’ ongoing commitment to language learning and global citizenship.
