Year 7 student Eva Wilkins wins long jump and qualifies for Auckland Interzone Day after strong performances in multiple events.

Year 7 athlete claims multiple placings at recent athletics meet

Year 7 ākonga Eva Wilkins delivered an outstanding performance at the recent athletics competition, taking out 1st place in the Year 7 Girls Long Jump. She also placed 3rd in the 100 m sprints and 5th in the 200 m sprints.

Her efforts have earned her a place at the Auckland Interzone Day at the end of November, where she will compete against the best from across the region.

The event brought together students from across schools, and Eva’s result stood out among a strong field. Her success reflects her commitment and sets a strong example for other young ākonga stepping into competitive sport.

Orewa College is proud of Eva’s achievement and looks forward to seeing her compete on the interzone stage.
