Orewa College alumni and friends gather for the Wicked Movie Night fundraiser at HOYTS Hibiscus Coast on Friday 21 November 2025, supporting the Alumni and Friends Fund.

Wicked Movie Night Fundraiser celebrates the alumni community

On November 21, 2025, the Orewa College community gathered at HOYTS Hibiscus Coast for the Wicked Movie Night Alumni and Friends Fundraiser. This event, organized to support the Orewa College Alumni and Friends Fund, ensured that every ticket sold contributes to opportunities in arts, sports, and overseas trips for current and future ākonga. 

The evening was made possible by the generous support of North Harbour Law, who hired the cinema, allowing 100% of ticket costs to go directly to the fund. Ticket sales contributed over $1000 to the fund. 

Before the screening of the movie, two outstanding alumni, Emma Searle and Victoria Clarke, performed, adding a special touch to the night. Lewis Bostock, a member of the Alumni Committee, expressed the significance of the screening, "Tonight is about bringing a special audience together - our alumni, performing arts ākonga from dance, drama and music, our former performing arts manukura, past performers of the year, members of our local theatre community, our Media Squad, and the dedicated stage mums who help support our performers." 

The event was a wonderful opportunity for alumni, past students, and members of the community to reconnect, celebrate their shared experiences, and support the initiatives that help the kura thrive.
