Three Orewa College students earn 2025 New Zealand Scholarships in Design, Health and Physical Education, and Biology.

Orewa College is proud to acknowledge the achievements of three students who have been awarded 2025 New Zealand Scholarships, one of the country’s most prestigious academic honours for secondary school students.

New Zealand Scholarship assessments are designed to extend the most capable learners, requiring deep subject knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to apply understanding to complex and unfamiliar contexts. Recipients receive a monetary award, and students who achieve multiple scholarships may be invited to attend the NZQA Top Scholar Award ceremony.

In 2025, the following students were awarded New Zealand Scholarships:

• Jaehee Kim – Scholarship in Design

• Simar Dulai – Scholarship in Health and Physical Education

• Alexander Bakhshov – Scholarship in Biology

The New Zealand Scholarship programme recognises students who consistently perform at the highest level nationally. These results highlight the dedication of our ākonga and the support of their kaiako and whānau.
