Year 13 student Jaehee has earned an NCEA Scholarship in Design for his car safety campaign, On Route.
Year 13 advertising campaign recognised for concept, clarity and social impact
Orewa College acknowledges the achievement of former Year 13 student Jaehee Kim, who has been awarded a 2025 New Zealand Scholarship in Design following last year’s Scholarship examinations.
The scholarship acknowledges work that demonstrates high-level thinking, technical skill, and sustained development across a design portfolio. Jaehee’s campaign explored the theme of car safety, presenting a clear and thought-provoking message about responsibility and decision-making on the road.
Through careful concept development and refined visual execution, he created a cohesive campaign that was both visually striking and socially purposeful. His work demonstrated maturity in how ideas were communicated and how design elements were used to support meaning.
This achievement reflects the significant commitment required to produce scholarship-level work, alongside the demands of Year 13 study. Jaehee’s success highlights the depth of creative thinking within the college’s Design programme and sets a strong example for future students considering Scholarship pathways.
We congratulate Jaehee on reaching this high standard and acknowledge the dedication behind his achievement.
