Orewa College dance teams worked with alumni choreographers Lily Wilson and Melissa Ramalov during February workshops to develop routines for the 2026 competition season.
Alumni choreographers support students in developing competition pieces and strengthening performance skills
Orewa College dance students have spent their weekends in focused rehearsal and development as part of a series of alumni-led choreography workshops held in the school dance studios.
The workshops brought together team members and former students turned professional choreographers to help shape competition pieces for the 2026 competition season. Students have worked closely with Lily Wilson and Melissa Ramalov, refining choreography and building consistency across their routines.
The sessions supported both technical development and team bonding, giving students time to build confidence in their routines while learning directly from alumni who have continued their pathways in dance beyond school. The team spent two weekends in total. Each weekend totals 13 hours of dance
Working in the Orewa College studios allowed students to rehearse in a familiar environment while maintaining a professional pace as teams move closer to finalising their competition pieces.
